A group of academics, psychiatrists and patients has now lodged a complaint to the Royal College of Psychiatrists regarding the misleading information in the Times letter.
Today on BBC Radio 4 Prof Clare Gerada, former Chair of RCGP Council, attempted to downplay the immense problems associated with antidepressant withdrawal. Prof John Read presented some of the results from the largest survey of antidepressant users. The RCPsych declined to participate.
Prof Gerada similarly attempted to downplay benzodiazepine withdrawal on Radio 4 Face the Facts in 2011.
